Cristian Padilla, born in 1997 and raised in Las Terrenas, is one of the most prominent surfers in the Dominican Republic. He started surfing at age 11 and, thanks to his discipline, perseverance, and passion for the ocean, has represented his country in international competitions in more than 15 countries, including WSL Qualifying Series events, the ISA World Surfing Games, and the ALAS Global Tour.
In 2026, he founded Península Surf School in Las Terrenas, with the purpose of sharing everything he has learned throughout a lifetime dedicated to surfing. Through his school, Cristian seeks to transmit not only technique and experience, but also respect for the ocean, confidence in the water, and a passion for the sport, helping new generations and visitors discover the world of surfing in a safe, authentic, and fun way.
Mizael Hernández, born in 2002 and raised in Las Terrenas, is passionate about surfing and a dedicated, cheerful, and hardworking person. Since 2020, he has worked as a surf instructor, sharing his knowledge with patience, enthusiasm, and always with a smile.
His charisma and love for the sea make him an essential part of Península Surf School, where he guides students of all levels to gain confidence in the water and enjoy the process of learning to surf.
Miguel de León, born in 2006 and raised in Las Terrenas, is a competitive surfer and instructor with a natural talent for sports, especially surfing. He was a member of the national team and represented the Dominican Republic at the ISA World Surfing Games Junior. He has also participated in the ALAS Global Tour, gaining experience in international competitions.
Miguel has shared training and competitions with Cristian Padilla in various locations, including Las Terrenas and Peru. Always willing to help and motivate others, he is now part of Península Surf School, where he combines his experience as a competitive surfer with his passion for teaching.

Prices are listed per person and apply to beginner lessons. Private surf coaching and surf trips are priced on application.
Not at all. Beginner lessons are perfect if it is your first time surfing or if you want to improve your skills.
Beginner lessons are around 2 hours, including 30 minutes of instruction on the beach before heading into the water.
Most lessons take place in Las Terrenas, with surf trips available throughout the Samaná Peninsula and other parts of the country depending on conditions.
Yes, surfboards are provided for lessons.
